In an effort to bring prospective purchasers into the unit configurations of the apartments of 88 O’Connell, Make Models was engaged to create a series of 1:20 and 1:30 apartment models. 1 bed, 1 bed + study, 2 bed, and 3 bed units were modeled to show the internal layout to potential buyers to aid in the interpretation of the floor plans.
The joinery packages available with purchase were also modeled showing the spaces, not as empty rooms but fully furnished homes. Potential furniture configurations which could suit the aesthetics of the room were also physically modeled in the space, along with shower heads, vanity cabinets, bath tubs and balconies.
The walls of the apartments were hand made in solid rock maple to suit the aesthetics of the display suite and the 1:100 timber marketing model which accompanied it. The models were laid out side by side on a solid timber plinth to serve as a comparison of scale and opportunity to residents looking to purchase in the Woods Bagot designed buildings.
